November 26, 2008 Mike and Val Brannon Dear Mike and Val: We wanted to share our thoughts on our experiences with Brannon Construction over the past few years. When we were growing up, both of our families built custom homes, and their experiences were not pleasant. We also have several friends who had similar unpleasant experiences. Needless to say, when we decided to build our own custom home in Winter Park, we were concerned because it seemed as though everyone we knew who built a custom home had some sort of horror story about their experience. We expected to have a similar experience, but hoped the home we built would justify the pain we endured. I am happy to say our experience was absolutely wonderful-and unlike others we know who built custom homes. When we met with you to discuss our needs and desires, we really believed you would build our dream home. Your extensive experience, deep knowledge of custom home design and construction, and absolutely superb customer service skills immediately made us comfortable with the process-and this was before we received your bid, which was tens of thousands of dollars less than the nearest competitor. Although we were very pleased with the bid price, it was your superior communication, knowledge, and accessibility that convinced us to build with you. We could not have been happier with our decision. Our home is amazing, and we owe it all to Brannon Construction. As with any home designed from a blank sheet of paper, there were a few issues and some problems. However, you and Mike Harrison were always on top of those concerns-many times before we were (and we visited the site almost daily). Your willingness to address our concerns, offer reasonable and creative solutions, and work with us until we were satisfied sets you apart from other builders. It would have been easy for you to have told us (and convinced us) that we simply "couldn't do" something we really wanted to do, but instead you took the time and put in the effort to help us reach our goals. The results are outstanding. A customer simply could not ask for more from a builder. Your skill goes beyond helping us do what we thought we wanted done-you actually offered ideas and solutions to problems we didn't see and issues we didn't expect. This was invaluable. To this day I see elements of the home that I love (but didn't design), and I remember that you were responsible for those elements. Without you making those insightful and unsolicited suggestions, our home would not be as wonderful as it is. It is also worth mentioning to people considering building with you that not only did we build one home with you, we built another. How many people actually build two homes with the same builder? The second was even better than the first, but it was a spec home we built together as a joint venture, so we had to sell it. That partnership resulted in a stunning home and a successful, profitable business relationship. Again, our experience with Brannon Construction was exceptional. Probably the most telling testament to the overwhelmingly positive experiences we have had with you is the fact that we sold you the home we owned next door to us, so you could build your own home on Spruce Avenue. Not only are you exceptional builders of beautiful, quality homes, you are wonderful people, good friends, and wonderful neighbors. We feel fortunate to have met you and developed our relationship over the years. We look forward to building another home with Brannon Construction once our boys get a little older.
